Happy Blogging.

Surge of urge to blog!

For seemingly no rhyme nor reason, I simply stopped blogging.

I think it was because my laptop was creating hell for me. It was incredibly slow, and it stopped producing any type of sound. The only reason why I used it was to do work and check email and all the other non-fun stuff.

But since last week the laptop was fixed, and I'm beginning to like it a lot more. For starters I can continue my Gossip Girl dose. What is it about bitchy tween shows that I like. I'm only at episode 11 of season 1. I know, season 1, still? Uggggghhhh but I loooveee Vanessa, have you seen what the girl puts on?

In relation to something more fashiony, I FINALLY went round to going through the old magazines and ripping out only pages that I like and filing them. And I found out that I really, reaaaaalllyy enjoy doing this seemingly arduous task. Maybe I'll scan some.

I'm also going into 'green' mode. I'm sending stuff out to recycle, I'm not throwing out as much junk, I'm refusing plastic bags when I go shopping - much to my mom's dismay. Going green-er (I wouldn't say "green" because I'm still wasting stuff, unfortch) has also kicked in some sort of weird mode.

The anal-unclutter-er mode. I went through the entire room (except for an untouchable section which belongs to the mom) and sorted, organised, uncluttered everything possible. Now I'm happier because everything has a place and I don't lose stuff anymore. My clothes look a thousand times better when neatly organised and appropriately hung, I feel happier looking at my makeup stuff, and I no longer rush about the house looking for going-out essentials. Peace is good.

In other not-peace-inducing news, I lost my freaking iPod.

Maybe I'll post something more interesting tomorrow. Yeah.

More Meows

Overload of gorgeousness prettiness!

How can I not love cats?

Awesome photography, though you lose the model everytime. Even in close-up shots. Hm. But the fashion looks fun. I can't imagine the fun it must be to plan and co-ordinate these photoshoots.

And it's true that cats can't be bothered with people when they're not kittens anymore, but that's their beauty.

I miss my Aunt's cat. I'm not ready for a cat of my own yet, so if I feel lonely and spinster-ish, I visit my Aunt. Haha. I kid, I enjoy making fun of my Aunt as well :p

Mareno!!! *cat jumps in fright and attempts to squirm away from my jaws-like grip uh i mean cuddle*

By the way has anyone seen my resolutions? I forgot where I put them.

5 more days!

MAC Hello Kitty

Ooooook.

If anyone wants to impress me for VDay then get me these I'll marry you in a heartbeat.

Just the pallettes would enough. The pallettes this time look so well-put together and absolutely gorgeous colours. This pallette is Too Dolly. Pretty pretty. My favourite shades in a pallette.

This pallette is Lucky Tom, I believe. More safer shades, but gorgeous nonetheless.

The lip colours are pretty, but none that I'd actually use, so pass.

Honestly the packaging is disappointing. They were trying to deviate from the cutesy thing way too much that it's just... off.

But check out the promo pics though, so pretty:

Forgot where I took the photos from, apologies.

Bestie and I are going out on Valentine's - her to celebrate her waking up and jerk-dumping and me to celebrate... uurrrgh baah nvm - and we are NOT looking at happy couples.

So far we are plan-less, can't think of any un-romantic place, because even the most un-romantic place will be filled with couples looking for novelty. Biiittttcccchh. Tsk.

Your result for The Sorting Hat Test ...

Hi! I'm suppose to be doing a report!

Your result for The Sorting Hat Test ...

SLYTHERIN!

You scored 44% Slytherin, 12% Ravenclaw, 40% Gryffindor, and 28% Hufflepuff!

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,

These cunning folk use any means

To achieve their ends.

Slytherins are known for their ambition, guile, and Machiavellian sensiblities.

Take the Sorting Hat Test.

I've done my fair share of 'Which Hogwarts house do you belong to' and I ALWAYS end up in Slytherin. Never cheated either. Though I did cheat once and I got into Gryffindor. This time I'm almost a Gryffindor ok!

I like snakes and I like green, sooo meh, no biggie.

In celebration of my acceptance that I, indeed, belong to Slytherin, I present to you my would-be school uniform...

And on days where I head out to Hogsmeade, I'll wear muted colours of silver and green instead.

Pretty dresses and trench coat from ASOS.com.

One of the reasons why we love computer lab classes is because we can window shop. A LOT.

Picture this, a group of girls huddled in front of one computer going through dresses on sale. Fun :). By the way, we have all established our love/instilled love into others for ASOS.

Ooooh. I have Machiavellian sensibilities.

Back to the report!

WTH I wanna sleep, night!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Urrggggh, I have a bunch of photos to Facebook but darn I'm lazy.

This did it for picture/inspiration of the week for me.
I'm thinking my grunge tshirt and neglected slip dress sounds effortlessly yummy. Perfect. For, you know, when you retire from the pretty and the prissy and the glitz that is atypical of the festive mood and scorn at having to go back to school/work.

Coincidentally, I think the hair with 10 canfuls of hair spray is very befitting of the year of the ox. Hee. I feel silly happy over the tiniest things sometimes, and I like that.

It's not too good that I think Irina rocks smoking shots best huh? Whooops.

Is it weird that I'm thinking of joining a photography club with a half-decent not-SLR digital camera? Meh whatevs, they can kick me out if they're intimidated by the pinkness of my camera :)

The Granny's Tablecloth of a Blazer.

sigh I know, I suck as a blogger. Even now, I'm waiting for commercials to end so I can continue with American Idol audition madness. And- hold that thought, I'll be back next commercial!

HAHAHA someone just said rectum! RECTUM!

***

If you know me enough or read my blog long enough, you'd know I like my blazers. It's been a while since I last went hunting for them, so I was deciding on what kind to get. The initial thought was to get white since it's a nice safe colour, or hot pink, but good luck finding such a colour in the market.

Then I came across these on the runways of Betsey Johnson's Spring 09.

Deliciously tacky floral blazer in the gaudiest of blue pastel, sounds good to me. I'm pretty sure i can dig up a similar looking one on vintage shopping hunts, coupled with some tailoring and neutrals all round, I'm good to go :)

Hmm. I miss smog machines.

My hair is still the same - too undecided, tsk.

Night.

Happy OH to the NINE

Overdue but HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

2008 seems like a blur of a whirlwind that currently at 2 in the morning and groggy but insomniac, I can only remember the past month. Which is easy, considering it mostly involves me working my ass off. And picking the old noodle a tiny bit, I remember 2008 as housing one of the most intense moment of my life, almost breaking me with tempts and emotions.

And then the past week was the one week I finally took a break, and school starts this week. Woohoo. That's right I'm cheering for school because it's an engine things to begin.

You know how they say the new year should begin positively, as it reflects how the rest of your year are going to be like? Hm.

On the eve of new year's eve, I caught up with old friends. On new year's eve, bestie and I got high over Ponyo Ponyo and Kung Fu Milk Tea and talking about playing dance dance revolution on Wii and then rushed home to watch The Little Nyonya. Which means we both spent new year's at home :). And screaming a hearty HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! out the window when the clock strikes. Fun fun fun I love it when my mom calls me crazy.

And then the next day I went across the border via the new checkpoint - super easy and fuss-free that I heaved a huge sigh of relief that FINALLY it's been done. I fought with my mom over the most silliest thing ever, but I found out what a cool aunt I have and how unconsciously comfortable I was with her.

Then shortly after, I made a bad decision over something I should've known better. I'll be over it, I always do. On the bright side, I was grasping at hopes and dreams that didn't die, and I discovered things about myself that were crucial in keeping my head high.

Oh, and it's funny what hearing "I like your groove-" does to you. Yeeeaaaah baby I'm groooovy.

The next day, I had a phone fight with my dad.

Hmm. Bittersweet beginnings, bittersweet year?

Resolution #1: Not only to be financially independent, but take risks. Studentry is the perfect excuse.

Resolution #2: Rediscover passion that I've lost and let lost in youthful ignorance.

Resolution #3: Treasure the friends I have and have made, and don't kill myself over those who... are plagued with circumstances.

Resolution #4: Travel more yoooo.

I'm sure I'll randomly come up with resolutions here and there that I'll eventually forget about until I fulfill it.

Typing out my 2 am thoughts is relieving. Resolution #5: Blog more.

Happy New Year, and cheers.

Latest Addiction: MAC Lipsticks

I'm addicted to MAC lipsticks! They're the uber prettiest and come in all sorts of shades and types for every skintone. HAPPY HAPPY.

I suffer from the uneven lip tone, where the top lip is darker than the bottom so the Amplified range pretty much solves that problem. Unlike the matte it's creamy and not as dry, yum. Not that I didn't get colours in their other range though. If it looks pretty, it looks pretty.

Oooh, being juvenile here, but they look like tampons heeeteeeheheheeeee.

I took a break after 6 straight hours of being holed up in the room rushing my assignment. Couldn't resist trying on me latest haul. Blankety on the lips, the most perfect nude colour EVER. Happy :) And I like the eye make-up, I say experiment is a yes way.

I only have 5, but trust me I'm on my way to becoming a lippie addict. I wanted to get another one, but I couldn't decide the colour and our stomachs were calling for Canale macaroons or macarons whatevs - of which I now totally buy into the hype. It's like chewy ice-cream, yum.

On a side note, my dance instructor told me that you could die from doing work for 8 hours straight.

Thanks bestie love *hugs and slobers disgusting nude kisses all over* :)
L to R : Blankety (Amplified), Frenzy (Frost), Viva Glam IV (Frost).

Viva Glam IV is such a gorgeous frosty red that's very buildable.
It looks so naturally right on me, it's almost scary.

Oh, and MAC Fix Plus (Fix+?) is an awesome awesome facial mist thing. It's the best I've tried ever. Refreshes, sets make-up, eliminates that cakey look from powders/mineral make-up and it smells soo good; I mean the stuff has green tea in it hullo.

For a bottle of wtf "energised" water it's a little pricey at $25, but tons of benefits and it'll last a lifetime.

Holscrap lost track of time and am late can't be late bye.

OOTD: The Maxi Please-Don't-Step-On-It Dress.

The past 1 1/2 weeks I was holed up in my room working on back-to-back end semestral projects, very rarely sleeping before 5am, waking up by ten and repeating the whole process of staring into the laptop.

But I was not miserable because the one single day that I took a break of doing nothing school-related and making myself all pretty was the best EVER for a long long time :).

I also now smell like Gwen Stefani. Mommy is the best. Best friends rock the hardest too, I think I'd die without my bitch club :).

And I finally wore out my super duper long dress!

I have no wedges/heels (my heels are all bitchy) for it so I settled for flat sandals, and it pretty much swept the floor. It was stepped on about 6 times total. Didn't care, loved it.

Thanks to all for the wishes! Birthday prayers included all of you in them :)

OOTD: School in Tiger Print

Didn't go school though *overslept*, but I did prepare the outfit for it so might as well.

Coolness effect from an SLR. I want an SLR too.

Haha, drunk face.

Underwater cam for the bestie who's leaving me for beautiful Borneo. *grudges*

I'm quite sad because my December trip to Langkawi is cancelled :(

Zouk's Flea and Easy 16th November, tomorrow from 2pm to 7pm.

But I'll be home to work on my major essay.

Doe Deere Blogazine

Where's Agathe of Style Bytes? I miss her outfit posts :(

Anyway, my current blog love is Doe Deere Blogazine. Doe Deere is Xenia (if that's really her name then freeeakin' cool), this super creative individual with a feminist streak now and then.

I love love love her blog for 3 the three most important things in the world; perfect makeup in every form, a genius unabashed use of colours, and the fantastic photography.

This make-up look rocks. It has that prominent line above the eye-crease, reminisce of the Twiggy doe-eyed era, doncha think?

Thumbs up for showing the old "toning-it- down" formula the exquisitely gloved finger.

Going straight

So I was wondering what sort of torture to inflict onto my hair, curl losing mojo and all, and in a split second of none-creativity, I got it straightened.

From this...
Yea I know you can't really see the curls either but it's a nice photo HAHA.
Lomography effect rocks.
Anyway.

To this.

Oooh. Check out how my hair colour pops with silky tresses.
I was supposed to have straight eye curtain bangs, but never mind.
And my hair has never ever been this long, so I'm quite happy :)

Next plan of action is to Anna Sui SS '08 it up.

I really love the hair on Irina Lazereanu, with peekaboo colour in her fringe.

But a muted purply colour would look understatedly awesome too.
But this colour is pretty hard to find in colour extensions. Hmm.

One of my qualms was that red hair extension would be a bitch to dress up for, and that I'd have to abandon colours. Not so, fortunately :)

I wear tons of purple, bluish, green, pinks, and black, shouldn't be a problem for me.

Giant chunks of crazy colour, sounds good, no?

The Engagement

Fun week!

Outfit:

In traditional Malay garb!
I quite like. Mum should be feeling proud that I willingly let myself into a baju kurung on a day that's not Hari Raya-based, hah.

And pretty bouncy curls that took an entire night+morning to recreate.
No more curls, more on that in the next post.

On our way, rushing with flowers in hand.

The Girls surrounding the gorgeous girl in champagne :)

I be lookin' crraaaazy! But I like.

Out.

New Layout!

Cheeecck it out, new banner header! *points up excitedly*

I'm suppose to be starting on at least one of two major assignments but I was lazy didn't want to do it procrastinated got decided to rest and play around blogger for a while.

I never knew such a feature existed! You can do up a foolproof layout by toggling a few things here and there. I heart blogger.

Ok back to work for real. Maybe just a very rough outline. Veerrry rough.

OOTD: Vintage Bib-Front Dress

OOTD: Outfit of the Day.

Pretty perm almost gone, my flat hair is back. I'm giving the perm another week to live and then off to the hairdresser for me. Quite excited :).

Flea market outfit! Nothing caught my fancy, believe it.

I did see a couple of tshirts that I like, but I didn't like the shirt the design was printed on. You know, the thick cotton round neck tees that remind you of secondary school camp tees.

I'm so hungry. What I'd give for some cheese fries.

Flea Fly Flo Fun

Told ya I'd post.

It's been a while since I last went to a crappy flea market. Heard this one's not so crappy so I shall give it another go. I shall remember to take photos and junk like that.

Night.

Its..... supercalifragilisticexpialidochos!

I know, I know, it's like I died and my ghost can't even be bothered to continue my life.

In short, school+love and involvement of another interest+general absence of inspiration+how snobbish I felt I became because of this blog (and from reading other equally snobbish blogs) = what was thought to be the end of this monologue. But renewed interest and a kick in the hiney has prompted me to return.

Oh, and in quoting, uh, someone not famous, "Respect all styleeezzzzzz." Word. Haha.

I was in fact thinking of starting afresh altogether, move to a new blog with a cooler and less supercilious name, but true to my short attention span (and laziness), I abandoned the idea.

I'll be back with a goddess full of folly entries sooner than you can say with great celerity supercalifragilisticexpialidochos. By the way, I rocking can, Mary Poppins was my tween-age fascination.

Love.

Ratchada-Lat Phrao Night Market

My number 1 highlight of the trip was this treasure trove of a weekend night market.

1. Thai youth dominated, awesome. Barely any foreigners, except the occasional white dude. And us, but we can pass off as Thai so.

2. Wonderful vintage galore! And plenty of new stuff also.

3. Cheap. At the legendary Jatujak Weekend Market one vintage dress = 500 THB. Ratchada Night Market = 150-250 THB. Bargain bargain bargain, 110 THB. That's about SGD$5/USD$3 to you. I don't even mean the ratty raggy funky-smelling vintage, I'm referring to brand new vintage.

1. Dim lighting or none at all. One of my cheap tees had a teeny tiny hole. If you're really anal, bring a torchlight.

2. Apparently only opened on Saturdays.

3. Getting there is quite tricky. Because of the many night markets in Bangkok, even taking a cab won't guarantee you'll get to this particular one. Sure-fire way to reach, take the subway, known there as MRT (confusing I know). Alight at Ratchadaphisek station, get out at Exit 2. When you emerge, you'll see nothing but buildings, chill. Turn left, walk straight ahead for less than 10 minutes. You know you've reached when you start seeing a line of parked vintage Volkswagens.

I should probably take photos of what I got instead, but urrrgggghh laaaaazzzzzzy i haaaavvveee beettteeerrr thhhiinngggsss tooo doooo bye.

Jellies

Just when we're dying to yank off gladiators off the next pair of guilty feet and burn them in front of its sobbing owners, the jellies makes a return appearance.

Orthopedic shoes jellies! These are cute.

I actually miss my jelly slip-ons. Mine are broken.

Back. 7 days is not enough. We got stalked, but all in fun for two girl travellers right? Haha haa hmm *swallows throat uncomfortably*

Friend: How's your first day!
Me: !@#$agggasoankss I didn't go. Overslept.
Friend: That is soooo YOU.
