MAC Me Over

Ok not a particularly fashionable post, just a review of some new cosmetics I indulged in. Now when it comes to cosmetics, well, I just use whatever brand's my mom's using. In fact sometimes I even use her mascaras and eyeliners.

I've been using my Body Shop foundation for close to 2 years now and I decided I need a change.

So I got MAC Studio Fix, since a lot of people seem to recommend it.

No big deal to me, the one notable thing about it is that it comes in a wide array of shades so there's no problem in finding a shade that's most suitable. In terms of oil control, well, my cheapo $5 pressed powder does a better job.

I definitely prefer it to Body Shop though, which is why I'm sticking to it for now.

I like the concealor. It's quite light and doesn't cover as well as I'd like, but it does make my eye makeup stick like glue which means no creases, yay.

Ooh, I tried L.A.M.B fragrance as well! The scent is OK but I super love the bottle design.

And come on, even if it smells like crap I want it because I'm an impressionable young person and I want everything Gwen Stefani endorses! Oh, Oh, she's pregnant as well, hooorraaaaah!

Anyone, pretty please, as an early birthday present/from that time you owe me for that thing? :D :D :D?

Hello Much-needed Weekend Getaway!

But I reallllyyyy need to blog! It's been a while.

Things for you to do because my boring blog is not entertaining enough.

1) Watch Stardust!

I caught the midnight movie yesterday - godsend considering the fact that I stayed until 10pm at work! !@#$% - and I loved it. Even if you think fantasy movies are bullshit because they all seem to ride on the popularity of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings [eg. me], you should just catch this one anyway.

Because! Robert De Niro was extremely hilarious! Claire Danes was gorgeous, the actor who played male lead Tristan was dorkishly cute, and Michelle Pfeiffer [spelling?] was good as a villain. Is it just me or does pfeiffer seem to be getting a lot of evil roles recently?

The outfits were only mildly captivating. Actually I could only remember a certain clingy silver dress and a royal blue gown.

The graphics were, as expected, mind-blowing. Subtly funny, and I could take the not-too-overbearing heroics.

2) Shop at FredFlare!

Heh. Cause I'm definitely having fun now looking at all the quirks offered.

A book on how to make soft toys, waay cute.

Because kittens are waaaaay more fashionable. Hmph.

Googly Eye rings, uh, yeah! -_-

I love my girlfriends!
Have not met my school ones though, it's tough to set a proper date because ALL of us have overtime and not getting paid for it. Girlsss! Steamboat dinner!

Hilary Duff is Dignified

Admittedly I was a little sceptical about this album, because, number 1: she is Hilary Duff, number 2: and come on, "Dignity"? Right. and number 3: she is Hilary Duff.

I could possibly lose my street cred after this review, BUT I really like her album, so I'm willing to risk it, ya' dig me shizzle ma' fizzle hommies? *coughs*

Anyway, the album has a more electronic dance sound, and no more of that annoying crappy pop she was doing before.

Hilary Duff also co-wrotes most of the songs so I'm glad it's not as cheesy as I expected; in fact I thought the lyrics are quite mature.

Her vocal range, however, was mediocre, though that probably shouldn't matter seeing as how the electro-pop sound is the crux of what rocks this album.

My favourite songs are Stranger, Gypsy woman and Dreamer.

For the purpose of this blog, I hunted for photos in hopes of capturing her style. Or her stylists' style. Whatever.

She looks best in one-pieces that she pulls off in a no-frills way.

My favourite, thank you. The red dress is adorable and her shoes rock.
Next on the shopping list: nude killer heels.
