Comme des Garçons SS07 & Yohji Yamamoto SS07

Konnichiwa, Paris Fashion Week! No, I haven't gone ignorant and had french words mixed up, it's just that Japanese designers reign Paris Fashion Week.

I am loving Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons.

The influence was obvious: Japanese. Rigid kimono tops, the rising sun symbol, and the geisha made-up faces.

I especially love the ballerina skirt pair-ups.

The first label by far to make black and white not boring. The perfectly imperfect cut pieces were exciting.

It was also androgyny of a different kind; more gentleman that boyfriend.
