Fashion is Obsession

I'm a happy bunny because in a span of 2 days I have 4 new dresses altogether! Whee. I was suppose to be looking for jeans 2 days ago but I found 2 dresses instead. Later on my ebay dress came in the mail! And today I found another perfect dress to add to my collection, it is JOY. I'll post photos soon!

Besides that my new timetable rocks!!!

Ok here are my current obsessions:

1. Dresses, obviously.

Many many dresses! I think the types of dresses I want are limitless, but from photos that I like, I'm thinking I like the whole chiffon vintage thing.

3. Grey Jeans

Not just any ol' grey jeans, I want those that are only slightly tapered and it has to be stretchy, since I want it to be mighty comfortable. Which is difficult since the skinny jeans isn't about to die anytime soon and popular as ever.

Honestly do not know what kind of cutting I'm looking for, so I simply searched for 'grey jeans' on shopbop -_-||

Vivi Magazine: Oversized Blazers

Why is it that I have not bought Japanese magazines before?

I borrowed a friend's Vivi magazine, with super cool Namie Amuro on its cover. The number of clothes in there in incredulous! Pages after pages of clothes, shoes, bags, even hair and make-up tutorials!

It doesn't matter that I can't understand a word in there, the pictures are enough to keep me hooked on to it. I wanted to get the same issue but it was sold out, so I got JJ instead.

I was planning to do a collage of the things that I liked but since I don't have the time, instead of featuring the magazine in one post, I'll just do multiple posts, yaaay.

I really need an oversized blazer. I've been meaning to get one a long time ago but I simply could not find one that looks decent. I even went as far as to wanting to get a men's one instead, but the shoulders were waaaay too broad.

I'd kill for one of these perfect oversized blazers featured.






Speaking of all things Japanese [fine, so only the magazine, whatever] I also had a bit of a Japanese food invasion.

Cold Salmon Don.
For some reason I've been craving for Salmon. And I don't even like Salmon that much -_-

Salmon rice thingy at Pepper Lunch. Love it. This was after a movie and I actually left my wallet in the theatres.

Concerned friend: Let's go back now, maybe it's still there. We'll tell them to cancel our order [or something to this effect]
Me: Meh, let's wait for the food instead.

Fyi, went back after enjoying the meal, got my wallet back :) Like my wise *coughs* bestie aptly puts it, if it's meant to be lost, it's meant to be lost.

Uzumaki ice-cream that's overrated and over-priced. $4 per cone? I'd rather get gelato.
The bubble tea ice-cream doesn't taste like milk tea at all, the green tea ice-cream was better, but still not enough of the matcha taste.

Oh yes, Vivi even featured the Creative Zen Stone! Totally my sign to go get it now now NOW.


And helped switch me back to Singaporean mode, which is good because tomorrow is National DAY!!!

I should totally do a red and white post..... IF I could afford to deviate from crazy-ass project.

Uninspired and Missing Skirts

I am tired, dead beat, tomorrow is Saturday and I have to wake up extremely early because I have driving at 8 in the morning.

I also can't seem to get inspiration to do design work for a couple of projects.

Oh, one more thing. I really, really, really miss wearing pretty skirts :(

I think I'm PMS-ing. I'm lamenting over life and being uninspired all over and junk.

Sweet dreams.

Korean fashion revived my Hoodie obsession

I've been looking at a lot of Korean fashion nowadays and I really love them. For one the models don't do that cutesy thingy that at certain times you just want to slap them for.

I don't know if its the Korean people or their ability to put together an outfit, but their photos simply ooze style. They have none of the extremities of Japanese fashion, and none of the straightforward, unfinished looks of Taiwan/Hong Kong.

Of course, I'm only judging Asian fashion based on what I've seen on the net so far and what is being sold there online. Still, I think my judgement is fair.

Hey, some may argue it's too conventional, but maybe that's what I love about it and I'm fine with that.

One more thing.

Fall '07 Wrap Up: Favourite Collections

Is it just me, or has the internet connection been on a fritz?

Right, it's a little too late but I said I'd do it so I will. Favourite designers for New York Fashion Week!

1) 3.1 Phillip Lim

Apart from the no-brainer neutral colours, there is a sort of effortless ease and comfort about the collection that I absolutely love. It still has the all-important element of lux about it in the mixture or materials used, such as silk and chiffon.

I don't really fancy the footwear choices but the tophats make for a damn fly accessory and totally makes up for the shoes.




2) Matthew Williamson

Can you say hoodie?!!! Alright, so the only reason why this line is one of my favourites is the hoodie. But hey, I'd kill for this silver dress.




3) Rag and Bone


Maybe because I'm still a sucker for very good androgyny and layering. It also has cleaner lines.







4) Betsey Johnson

And to prove I am not a boring person who only looks at neutrals and gorgeous hoodies, I enjoyed Betsey Johnson.

Cute, colourful, fun retro - just the concoction to make you feel all happy without being overly irritating.






5) Yigal Azrouel

I like the whole laidback rock n' roll plus librarian chic feel of the collection.

Fall '07 Wrap Up: Favourite Looks

Right, I'll do a wrap-up of New York Fall '07. I didn't know whether to do a favourite look or label catergorisation, so I think I'll do both. Heh.

4) Hoodie is Love

Because I love hoodies! But hey, at least I'm not the only one, the hoodie made plenty of appearances on the runway.

One thing though, they all made actual use of the hood. Usually hoods just flop at the back of your neck.

I love this look though, I shall attempt to do this next time without feeling stupid. Althought the fact that I'm even worrying it'd look stupid should tell me enough. Bah.
