The Granny's Tablecloth of a Blazer.

sigh I know, I suck as a blogger. Even now, I'm waiting for commercials to end so I can continue with American Idol audition madness. And- hold that thought, I'll be back next commercial!

HAHAHA someone just said rectum! RECTUM!

***

If you know me enough or read my blog long enough, you'd know I like my blazers. It's been a while since I last went hunting for them, so I was deciding on what kind to get. The initial thought was to get white since it's a nice safe colour, or hot pink, but good luck finding such a colour in the market.

Then I came across these on the runways of Betsey Johnson's Spring 09.

Deliciously tacky floral blazer in the gaudiest of blue pastel, sounds good to me. I'm pretty sure i can dig up a similar looking one on vintage shopping hunts, coupled with some tailoring and neutrals all round, I'm good to go :)

Hmm. I miss smog machines.

My hair is still the same - too undecided, tsk.

Night.

OOTD: Vintage Bib-Front Dress

OOTD: Outfit of the Day.

Pretty perm almost gone, my flat hair is back. I'm giving the perm another week to live and then off to the hairdresser for me. Quite excited :).

Flea market outfit! Nothing caught my fancy, believe it.

I did see a couple of tshirts that I like, but I didn't like the shirt the design was printed on. You know, the thick cotton round neck tees that remind you of secondary school camp tees.

I'm so hungry. What I'd give for some cheese fries.

Not that kind of ring but still.

BACK.

A midnight chat with a girlfriend who's getting engaged/married soon (hello i am your bridesmaid/door reception bitch :p ) reminded me of these photos I took a long while ago of my recently-hauled rings.

With the exception of the last finger, bestie went nuts for me for the other rings at Topshop.
My diamante nails rock :)

Name rings!
Madonna's bling "M-Dolla" ring was waaaay out of my league so I'll settle cutesy kitschy ones.

Speaking of which... *thinks up a super cool hip hop name*

Life's extremities leaves one girl wandering in the middle of nowhere, with tens of missed calls and messages. It was oddly satisfying.

Mommy Clothes

Black cardigan, vintage dress, gladiator sandals, white hoops.

The dress is a hand-me-down from my mom :)

It was much longer before I had it tailored - mid calf, like most dresses were 2 decades ago. My mom had more but she threw them all away, such a pity.

Thank goodness she missed one.

And yes, I do have other shoes besides my gladiator sandals, hmmmpph.

I love its print, subtle soft colours and the slightly raised neck.
Hoop earrings are forever.

Hmm. Maybe I should do a raid/steal-mom's-closet week or something.

**

I just came back from late-night driving! Driving is damn fun... when there're no cars on the road -_-.

I love that it feels like a Sunday today.
Hope you had a Good Friday.

Of Gladiator Sandals & Animal Prints

Navy blue trenchcoat, chiffon dress, gladiator sandals.

LOVE.
I wore it for 3 days straight!
The last time I wore the same pair of shoes on consecutive days was when I was schooling and didn't bother [aka always late].

A few of you asked where I got them from: GoJane.
If you need sizing help, just drop a note :).

Should start showing my love for my other shoes though; heels come Monday!

Animal skin tshirt dress, white cardigan, gladiator sandals, red *Balenciaga-inspired* motorcycle bag.

I like my new dress! I predict a lot of wear from this.
Bought it from ebay, and it being vintage it's too long so I got it tailored to update it into a shorter length.
My tailor was very surprised at how much this and other dresses I brought in cost.

I drove and am freaked!

Brother: If I didn't feel like puking all the time, my heart would be in my mouth the entire ride. *hands patting heart to punctuate point*
Father: Slow down! Juction! Watch for cars! Ohhhhh goodness. Turn left! HERE!! Slow down!
Me: I wish this was auto, I wish this was auto - hey look! a fellow on-probation driver, HI! - I wish this was auto, I wish this was auto...

I Make Uncool Glasses Cool. Coughs.

Aaaaaaaaah weekend, how I love you so.

I'm thinking I'm developing some sort of obsession for uncool eyewear.

Yeah, we so fly.

ANYWAY, real point of entry:

Grandpa reading glasses! Yet another gem find at favourite waste-time haunt, Daiso.

They're not exactly what I've been looking for, but they do have charm :).

Another Daiso find, the Caramel corn is my new snack obsession! The one is the foreground is condensed milk flavoured while the one at the back is coconut, which is surprisingly very very delicious.

10 more freaking weeks to go. Suck it up.

The First Day.

1) The people were extremely friendly and hospitable :).
2) I went to my first meeting and received a business card (which has a freaking cool design). Yes, I think receiving business cards is a big deal hmmph.
3) I thought I wouldn't be doing anything constructive on the first day and was looking forward to slacking. I thought really wrong.
4) They thought that I was a multimedia student. When someone asked, I made sure I told them I was a mass communication student interested in creative advertising. AND made sure I was audible enough for them to hear.
5) Tomorrow I'll get kicked out of my current desk because someone else who is not an intern is coming in. Hur hur.
6) Casual wear everyday!

Felt silly wearing corporate the first day, even after calling them to confirm the dress code. Was dressed to impress. Unfortunately nobody cared -_-.

The brand-new vintage [oxymoronic much] dress with the really pretty bow.

Wore a white belt as well in the middle but I took it off before remembering to take a photo of the outfit.

Yes, I am very addicted to playing Pokemon on the obsolete, super bulky, very early but not enough to be retro, Nintendo Game Boy.

Yeeeaaaaah.

Patterns and Dresses

I was complaining to my friend the other time:

"Sony T10 sucks! I can't take close-up shots for nuts! It always ends up blurry and out of focus *whine complain whine*..."
"Did you remember to switch on the macro feature each time?"
"The mac-what now?"
"..........."

And now I like my camera and taking close-up shots! Yay! An SLR camera is still very covetable though. Wait make that a DSLR.

Anyway, now that I have discovered the macro function, taking photos of patterns have been fun. I read somewhere on Stylehive before that likened patterns as dangerous boyfriends you can't resist. You always bring home the safe types aka solid colours but you always look at the dangerous ones aka patterns. Or something like that.

Right, right, my point. I love patterns :)

Went shopping a few days ago and I bought happy happy stripes.

This was the dress I wore, forgot to take a full photo of it because I was rushing to catch America's Next Top Model on tv.
Yes, ANTM is my guilty pleasure, so sue me.

Excuse the theatre screen forehead and the cheesy thumbs-up sign please, I really liked the sesame paste.

The dress had a granny feel to it that I really really liked. Didn't intend on getting this one initially.

I bought a similar dress initially and it was bright and cheery as opposed to the sombre quality the granny dress had.
I happen to pass by the same shop the other time and I knew I just had to have the granny dress one or else I'd die.

This was the cheery first dress:

The Granny dress pattern:

I also got myself a vintage dress on ebay only because of it's pattern.

When it came I was excited that it had interesting puff detail and shaping on the sleeves that I didn't notice before.

That's a basic grey shift dress with the cutest ribbon on its sleeves and pockets.
It was a tad too big but my fault I suppose, checking for measurements is not my habit -_-.

Love the geometric fishscales pattern:

Back to work!

***

I am officially un-contactable! Even my back-up phone has died on me!

I could use the house phone except the phone line was just terminated since nobody in the house uses it and the very smartass who suggested cancelling it now needs it! Bah.

I'm feeling so dependent and lost and anxious and I cannot relax totally. *randomly touches random things*

Fashion is Obsession

I'm a happy bunny because in a span of 2 days I have 4 new dresses altogether! Whee. I was suppose to be looking for jeans 2 days ago but I found 2 dresses instead. Later on my ebay dress came in the mail! And today I found another perfect dress to add to my collection, it is JOY. I'll post photos soon!

Besides that my new timetable rocks!!!

Ok here are my current obsessions:

1. Dresses, obviously.

Many many dresses! I think the types of dresses I want are limitless, but from photos that I like, I'm thinking I like the whole chiffon vintage thing.

Erin Fetherston

2. Nude pumps

[Getty Images]

These would be perfect, although with the price tag it better be.
This are quite some time ago so unfortunately I can't pinpoint the source of these images, oops :x
Christian Louboutin

Jimmy Choo

3. Grey Jeans

Not just any ol' grey jeans, I want those that are only slightly tapered and it has to be stretchy, since I want it to be mighty comfortable. Which is difficult since the skinny jeans isn't about to die anytime soon and popular as ever.

Honestly do not know what kind of cutting I'm looking for, so I simply searched for 'grey jeans' on shopbop -_-||

4. Vintage suitcases

Or briefcases, whichever. I want them for cheap, too, so I'm still scouring Ebay.

Of Vintage Bags and Missed Love

Much apologies for the lack of content.

I've been busy the past few days spending as much time with my bestie the shameless farter who's going to Ireland for 4 freaking months. I think that was an attempt to be so sick of each other that we won't miss each other or something.

Anyway I saw the most quintessential bag/luggage ever while in Chinatown a few days ago.

It's a hand luggage/bag because I would bring this to school or work (interning next semester! yay?).

ME WANTS! It was pretty affordable too! I would've bought it immediately if I still had pocket money. I worked a few days back too, hoping to get a full day's pay but because we were so efficient *coughs* our work was done in a mere 2 hours.

It's insides has the most adorable lining.

It was lying pretty alongside the other prettier bags and chests.

There was also another bigger vintage luggage.

My friend decided to bring a vintage bag to Ireland as well:

Heeeeeeeeeeeeee. I like it la, honestly :)

IT Fair was fun.
"Fast Pass" was fun.
Emoticon and webcam craziness was fun.
Impromptu stayovers was fun.
Super late suppers/super early breakfast was fun.

Not hearing your shameless farting for 4 months, not so fun.

I miss you already dork :(

PS. A leprechaun isn't a freaky green goblin monster, it's a cute little person who travels via rainbows and carries a pot of gold around.

Vintage T-shirt Obsession

I want all of these and more from 80sTees!

Another Blondie tee perhaps? This one says "one way or another" at the back!

This one cracks me up, tee hee!
Batman is a hundred times better than Superman.
Because he's super rich and he has a utility belt, hello.

Muppets! Less annoying than Sesame Street!
And because I like this shade of purple.

Everybody loves Donatello! Right?
Actually I can't distinguish one turtle to the next but I do remember liking the one with the red eye mask thingy.
Anyway, nice print.

Ugly Betty! I don't watch every episode but I do know I like him a lot, whoever he is.

Awwww.... just slap me.

Gotta have one in every colour!

I notice a lot of people getting those Mr Men and Little Miss series.

Don't know what all the hype is for. It's cute, but not that fascinating.

Red is Rad

Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!

Apologies for the lack of updates! Not that I celebrate Chinese New Year, but it's my mom's birthday! So for the whole weekend I was her personal slave, heh. Loads of fun still.

Now, it's almost customary to wear the colour red during the Chinese New Year season because it's fierce and stuff so represents prosperous things in the year.

But I always prefer looking a little less flashy so I've been making full use of my red shoes, headband and necklace instead.

Central Saint Martins

But of course, don't overload on red accessories unless you want to look like you're trying too hard. As a personal rule I always stick to 2 accessories at most to be safe.
