Smell like L.A.M.B.

Have I not emphasized how much I love this woman?
Gwen Stefani's high fashion label L.A.M.B. finally has a fragrance line.

I'll probably drag my butt to the nearest fragrance counter to have a whiff.

Delicious-smeling or not, I still want it because, helllooo it's Gwen Stefani-approved and I am impressionable! Whee!

Yay, today's a public holiday. Curses because I am sick, mucus and all.
Blllleeeeaaarrrgh. Not ready for work :(

The Asian-ified Mullet

Months back, the ugly mullet found its way into Asian shores and we were lapping it up.
Strangely I dig it as well. Especially ever since I saw this image a couple months back.

This hair rocks because it has the choppy shagginess about it that I really love.
Who knew spikes and soft curls could look great together?

That's Mika Nakashima, some famous Japanese singer apparently. I was trying to describe her to my friends but I really couldn't remember her name. When I got access to my laptop I was trying to figure it out and it was not until some time later that I realise her name is stated clearly at the top of the photo -_-. Blonde moment, much.

Anyway, while trying to describe Mika Nakashima, one of my friends thought I meant Boa.
And then I remembered her fierce do in the Girls On Top video.

Sigh. Again I wish I have a bevy of hair stylists at my beck and call.

I dyed my hair last week which led to pretty disastrous results. Because I felt like I had no life I decided to blondify myself. I don't think I need to go on, do I?

Off to find a more practical hair-do/not-ugly hair colour.

Make me Over, Kylie Style.

While reading Pinkisthenewblog the other day I came across this gorgeous photoshoot of Kylie Minogue.

When I saw this particular look, I felt all sorts of inspired.

I literally sucked my breath when I saw this particular look.

I'm unsure if it's the glam rock vibe, or the eye-makeup with the K.I.S.S.-like lightning bolt and unusual orange, or just the gorgeous bold red of it all that has such resonance with me but one thing's for sure. I have to do this look someday, HAVE TO.

Which reminds me, I have a hair post to do and I need to blog about the movies I've been watching.

Needless to say, I'm getting addicted to Kylie's latest single, 2 Hearts.
*warbles and claps to the beat* I'm in love, woooooh! I'm in love, wooooh!

Night!

Simplicity in Halloween Costumes

I slept for 17 hours yesterday!

Anyway, I like this Halloween lookbook put together by American Apparel.

Nothing garish, extravagant or elaborate, every piece can be easily found. So if you're stumped, no more renting tacky costumes.

Hey big spender!
Cabaret dancer look rocks. I think I like it because it's all black.
What a feeeeeling!
I've always wanted to wear the 80s dancer look out, but of course I've never dared to.
Because I embarrassingly admit that tube socks are cute.

Thriller!! The thriller night or something like that.
All riiiiiiiight Michael Jackson before he went... never mind.
She doesn't have some sort of theme song does she? Another look I love because of it's sheer straightforward simplicity yes very effective, don't you think.
Let's groove tonight! Share the spice of life *clap clap*!
Slutty roller disco girl, yeahh! Would look better with an Afro.

Come to think of it, probably anything looks better [for Halloween] with an afro.
Be a Disney Princess... with an afro!
Be a kinky schoolgirl... with an afro!
Be emo goth person... with an afro!
Be a vending machine... with an afro!
Be Britney Spears... with an afro!
[Actually this looks quite plausible ever since she shaved her hair off. What is wrong with her again?]

Scooby-doo-be-doo, where are you!
My favourite Mystery gang detective! What's her name again? Velma was it? She so smart.

Damn now I wish Halloween here extends beyond watching 'scary' cartoons and movies on tv.
It's not part of our culture so we don't celebrate it, unless you're in the clubbing scene.
When is Halloween by the way? Tomorrow? -_-.

Anyway, American Apparel now also has vintage eyewear.

I really really like this pair.
But they're pretty expensive even though they're "vintage and deadstock" *capitalist jerks :(*

Ms Universe Can Do ANYTHING

Including using her sash as an ID. I know this is not fashion-related but I have to put this up. I came across this video via TokyoMango

HILARIOUS.

"You can Google her." <--- CLASSIC.

Paramore shouldn't be a Secret Love

I got into Paramore about 2 years ago I think when I first heard the song 'Pressure'.

I liked them because their lyrics were unpretentious and a fresh change from the other disgruntled punk and hormonally-driven pop rock back then.

Then recently they just released the single 'Misery Business' and I decided I needed to find out more about this band.

Because I've heard them before I assumed they're now in their late twenties and just... old.

WELL.

Hayley Williams – Lead Vocals (b. December 27, 1988)
Josh Farro – Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals (b. September 29, 1987).
Jeremy Davis – Bass Guitar (b. February 8, 1985).
Zac Farro – Drums (b. June 4, 1990)

o_O! Kidding me?!! They're young!

And besides being a month younger than me *grumbles* and having such powerful vocals live even, Hayley Williams' style, well, rocks.

Ok, so the teal/purple legging and stocking combo is weird but the ballerina shoes totally work.

I love her red with orange streaks hair.
It should look crazy but strangely it looks natural on her.

She wears a lot of nu rave style with shocking colour tones but then she throws you off and wears soft dresses for a concert. Cool.

BeanNewYork: Uncommonly Lovely Baby Threads

One advice, never ever take prune juice before sleeping unless you want to be woken up constantly by the incessant gurgling of the bowel and running to the loo. Unnecessary info, I know, but I'm still cranky from lack of sleep *grumbles*.

Squealfest alert! Unless you hate babies [*Gaassssp* Monster, you.].

Because of BeanNewYork, I now want to have a baby! Then I can dress the little bug up like a pretty drool-worthy piece of squishy cupcake.

Apparently it's been spotted on Baby Kingston and if it's good enough for Gwen Stefani's baby it's good enough for mine.

This is such an adorably quirky onesie [they're called onesies!!! CUTE!] :

Drumming squirrel? Genius.

This is such a fabulous coat ever. It's reversible too.
I'll have it in adult size please.

Ballet flats + socks= Pixie socks!
PIXIE socks! Where do they come up with these names...

They also have the most adorable baby hoodies and beanies!

AWWWwwwwwWWWwww googlie wooglie embarrassing baby babbleeee...

Bringing Sexyback with a lil' bit of Hoodie.

Today I woke up late and missed school!!! I'm such a rockstar.

Speaking of rockstars, I've always wanted to pull the blazer over hoodie look off ever since Justin Timberlake did it.

It's casual and effortless yet smart because of the formal blazer.

But I don't have blazers roomy enough/hoodies thin enough. And the weather here don't exactly call for this kind of layering. Meh, I'll figure something out.

Or perhaps I could use the foolproof jacket-hoodie combo too.

I don't know this model -_-
But I do know I want her leather jacket.

Agyness Deyn

I think Justin Timberlake is the coolest person ever, though he humbly denied and said George Clooney is. I would've agreed too, except Clooney belongs to my mother -_-.

More pictures of the sexyback because I know you want to be lovestoned. Don't know where they come from since they're from my, uh, personal folder. My... personal style inspiration folder, that's right *shifty eyes*.

RAWRRR.

Just Close your Eyes and Bid for Charity

Local celebrity + 1 international celebrity designed shoes on ebay! The proceeds go to some charity for young entrepreneurs.

And yeeeeaaaaah, apparently nobody likes the designs [or the celebrity] that much. No surprise though, they should all stick to their day jobs.

It is soooo strange that nobody has placed a bid on Click 5's shoes yet. Sure, maybe their idea of a coveted design are their, uh, exclusive signatures but come on, they're Click 5!

Speaking of which, I think their new vocalist is a much better fit. The previous guy's nasally pretty pop voice annoyed the hell out of me.

Out of all the designs I saw, the only one I liked was Ben Yeo's, and his was the most minimalistic -_-.

His also has the most bids so far.

May and Choy were great on 881, but their designs surprised me. And not in a very good way.

May designed this.
This is not bad, but girl, TAME IT DOWN.
There's just too much of everything that it looks tacky.

This on the other hand was designed by Choy.

This wouldn't be so bad if I could take my eyes off the horrific absolutely unnecessary pink puff. Apparently it "adds life and vibrancy".
Right, I suppose the bright turquoise and elaborate multi-coloured Chinese motifs are not attention-seeking enough.

But still, at least theirs was more tolerable. When I saw the pair designed Julian Hee, I literally fell off my chair before experiencing seizures from the mere ugliness of it.

Behold the blasphemy:

Blood-curdling AAAAAAH!!!
Puppies?!! Curly Fur?!!! Puppies?!! Couple puppies?! PUPPIES?! SERIOUSLY?!

Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape Tour

All-time rock idol Gwen Stefani is coming to Singapore!!! !@#$$%^&*()_+!

And I'm pretty certain I won't be able to make it. I seriously doubt I could pool enough money before 14 August, which is the date of the concert, of course.

Boo.

I miss her Harajuku posse, no matter how gimmicky they are.
Maybe she'll be looking for a new posse.
The Jurong West Posse! No?

Mama Gwen and Baby Kingston!
He probably hates getting dolled up like that but he'll grow to love it.

Aww maaaannn. Get your tickets at Sistic, hmmph hmmph whatever.

I worked for the first time in my whole entire life. More about that in the next post.
TIRED.

Hilary Duff is Dignified

Admittedly I was a little sceptical about this album, because, number 1: she is Hilary Duff, number 2: and come on, "Dignity"? Right. and number 3: she is Hilary Duff.

I could possibly lose my street cred after this review, BUT I really like her album, so I'm willing to risk it, ya' dig me shizzle ma' fizzle hommies? *coughs*

Anyway, the album has a more electronic dance sound, and no more of that annoying crappy pop she was doing before.

Hilary Duff also co-wrotes most of the songs so I'm glad it's not as cheesy as I expected; in fact I thought the lyrics are quite mature.

Her vocal range, however, was mediocre, though that probably shouldn't matter seeing as how the electro-pop sound is the crux of what rocks this album.

My favourite songs are Stranger, Gypsy woman and Dreamer.

For the purpose of this blog, I hunted for photos in hopes of capturing her style. Or her stylists' style. Whatever.

She looks best in one-pieces that she pulls off in a no-frills way.

My favourite, thank you. The red dress is adorable and her shoes rock.
Next on the shopping list: nude killer heels.

I wouldn't look up to her as a style inspiration, but hey, I do love her shoes.
